How a Southampton-based electrician is stepping into the ring to raise funds for a life-changing children’s cancer charity.
As a local electrician in Southampton, I spend most of my time making homes safer and more energy-efficient — from upgrading consumer units to installing EV chargers. But this summer, I’ve taken on a completely different challenge: I’m stepping into a boxing ring for the very first time to raise money for Young Lives vs. Cancer.
The event, organised by Ultra White Collar Boxing, takes place on 19th July 2025 right here in Southampton. Every punch thrown that night will help support children and young people going through cancer treatment, as well as their families. This charity provides crucial emotional, practical, and financial support during the most difficult times — and they do so locally, right within our community.
As a father and a small business owner, this cause resonates deeply with me. I've seen firsthand how much a little support can mean in tough times. So I’m stepping way out of my comfort zone to give something back — not just through my work at Solid Electrics, but through every training session and sparring round leading up to fight night.
