A behind-the-scenes look at the intense mid-point in my boxing journey — and why I’m doing it for Young Lives vs. Cancer.
We’ve reached the halfway point of training — and it’s only four weeks until Fight Night on 19th July 2025 in Southampton. The pressure is on, and the training has reached another level.
This week included two-minute sparring rounds with rotating partners, exposing us to different weights, skill levels, and techniques. It was intense. We also focused on power punching drills to boost strength and punch accuracy. The session finished with a grueling circuit of jumping jacks, high knees, push-ups, and shadowboxing to build endurance.
Although I managed to train during a short break, missing a few official sessions showed — but I’m catching up fast. The support from fellow participants and everyone backing the cause has kept me focused and fired up.
All of this hard work is for Young Lives vs. Cancer, a charity doing amazing work supporting children and families affected by cancer. They need all the support we can give.
